The Lord's presence throughout my life

Simple Pleasures

Years ago when we purchased our house, the previous owner had installed a hand-held showerhead in the master bath. She felt compelled to share small details about her home with us, and this was one of them: the hand-held showerhead aided in cleaning the shower. The shower itself isn’t all that large, but it does have a seat opposite the showerhead which makes it large enough to make it a challenge to clean. After moving in, we removed her showerhead, wanting to make certain changes signifying our ownership of the home. After many years in this home, and really struggling to clean the shower easily, I finally purchased a hand-held showerhead with a long hose.

Cleaning isn’t one of my favorite things to do, although recently I’ve found a lot of fulfillment and satisfaction in the end result. Cleaning the shower, however, is one of my least favorite cleaning activities. For more than one reason, I avoid cleaning our master shower. The grime build-up is atrocious, it’s impossible to do the deed without getting sprayed with the gunk that I’m cleaning off, and of course, I had no way other than using a cup to splash the water onto the walls. But with this new showerhead I can easily spray water, rinse the soap off, and move on with my day. With the addition of this one small and relatively inexpensive purchase, I made it easier on myself to do a better job of keeping a clean shower for my husband and myself.
